Standing with Refugee Women on the Day of Women: Addressing Food, Health, and Security Challenges

On this Day Dedicated to Women, CDH/VICAR highlights the plight of refugee women in the African Great Lakes region, who face extreme hardships in their daily lives. Refugee women often endure insufficient food, limited healthcare access, and heightened vulnerability to security threats, which significantly undermines their wellbeing and that of their families.

These violations range from discrimination to physical and psychological harm, leaving women in a constant state of fear and insecurity. Such conditions demand urgent attention from authorities and humanitarian organizations.
